1)Product Description
Sodium molybdate, Na2MoO4, is useful as a source of molybdenum. This white, crystalline salt is often found as the dihydrate, Na2MoO4·2H2O. The molybdate anion is tetrahedral. Two sodium cations coordinate with every one anion.
The agriculture industry uses 1 million pounds per year as a fertilizer. In particular, its use has been suggested for treatment of whiptail in broccoli and cauliflower in molybdenum-deficient soils. However, care must be taken because at a level of 0.3 ppm sodium molybdate can cause copper deficiencies in animals, particularly cattle.

2) Function& Application
Used for preparing molybdenum salt, dye, pigment, catalyst, corrosion inhibitor, etc.
Used as metal corrosion inhibitor, scale remover, bleaching accelerator and skin and hair protectant.
Used as analytical reagent for alkaloid determination, dyes and pharmaceutical industry.
Precipitants, catalysts and molybdenum salts for the manufacture of alkaloids, inks, fertilizers, molybdenum red pigments and sun-fast pigments, as well as for the manufacture of flame retardants. and metal inhibitors of pollution-free cold water systems, as well as zinc plating, polishing agents and chemical reagents.
Molybdate is an anodic oxidation film inhibitor, which forms ferrous - ferric - molybdenum oxide passivation film on anode iron and ACTS as a corrosion inhibitor.
