Propyl paraben is also called propyl paraben. Propyl p-carboxybenzoate is colorless fine crystal or white crystalline powder, almost odorless and slightly astringent. The melting point is 95-98℃, slightly soluble in water (0.05g／100ml, 25℃), easily soluble in ethanol (95g／100mI), acetone (105g／lO0ml) and peanut oil (1.4g/100ml). Anti-corrosion performance is worse than ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate.
